Lift with Jane Landymore, via Christchurch to pick up friend Paul. Race start 10:30, high tide 10.00. Same course as before. Crowded start on beach, ok with chip timing. Started at front of 3rd 'wave', so no queues up zig-zag. Long hill up from beach, then undulating over heath; Walked uphill bits, and soft sandy dunes (unstable footing made back ache). Ran out of steam on last beach section, but only 3 min slower than last year. Not many NFR there (all at GSR). Wooden 'eco medal' and small goody bag. | ||||||
